BLACKPINK: As If It’s Your Last // Music Lovers Focus on Delightful and Colorful World of the Quartet
How far will K-POP extend? I focus on the spread of the collectivity called K-POP at the same time as the activity of each group after listening the music. The word K-POP is more like a tag on the Internet, rather than a genre, and it is a really easy-to-understand symbol for music lovers around the world. After one group gets attention, another group gets its attention in a derivative way.
BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) is one of the K-POP groups I am interested in. I have listened to their original songs such as Playing With Fire and Forever Young, and Kiss And Make Up with Dua Lipa. It can be appreciated that their fans are increasing not only in Korea and Japan but also in other Asian countries, Europe and the United States because of their impressive vocals and raps, song arrangement, and directing of music video.
Their single As If It’s Your Last is a pop song filled with various charms. The song has an irregular structure, and it is a toy box that you look forward to what will pop out of. There are moments when I feel the atmosphere of Latin music like samba or EDM. It gives me a bright impression.
One of the things that stand out is how good the melody is. The goodness works well with pop-colored music video. Especially, the melody in the chorus is brighter and more refreshing and comfortable to the ear. It can be said that it is the attraction of the members in charge of vocal. Their singing voices convey the beauty of the melody straight, and will make you want to listen to this song repeatedly.
